art, antiques, jewelry and estate collections

GLENDALE (August 9, 2018) – EJ’s Auction & Consignment has renewed its property lease with CIRE and the full-service auction house will remain in its current Glendale location for seven years. The 29,000 square-foot “Big Box” building is located at 5880 W. Bell Road, on the northeast corner of Bell Road and 59th Avenue.

“Glendale has been very good to us,” said Erik Hoyer, owner of EJ’s Auction & Consignment. “When we first opened our doors in 2012, we were down the street from our current location. We’re very fortunate in that we’ve experienced significant growth, especially since March of 2016 when we became independent of any other auction house. We’re proud to be recognized as a reputable auction house that values integrity.”

When EJ’s moved to its current location in 2013, the auction house had eight employees. As demand for services increased, EJ’s tripled its staff. Currently, EJ’s employs 34 full-time and part-time staff in roles ranging from auctioneers and acquisition specialists to office management, catalog and listing specialists, customer service representatives, clerks, ringmen, processors, transportation managers and other pertinent positions.

“I’m extremely proud of our staff. I know that their hard work and dedication is a big reason why EJ’s is one of the leading auction houses in the state,” Hoyer said, adding that many of his employees have been with the company from the start.

While based in Glendale, EJ’s touts a global database of bidders for its auctions, thanks to its online bidding platforms that make it convenient for anyone to participate.

“We average 400 people attending our weekly Saturday auctions, and the beauty of the online component is that you can watch the auction and bid remotely from anywhere in the world, so long as you are connected to the internet,” Hoyer said.

EJ’s also consigns estate collections from throughout Arizona.

“Our weekly auctions include a mix of estate collectibles from all over the Valley to northern and southern Arizona,” Hoyer said. “We sell everything from Picassos to pots and pans. We also conduct live auctions on-site at luxury homes and at commercial properties. In addition, we recently expanded our services to include a real estate division.”

The renewal of EJ’s lease means that customers will continue to experience the same family-friendly atmosphere during three live, high-energy rings of auctions that are conducted simultaneously every Saturday.

“We’re all about making auctions fun and profitable for our customers,” Hoyer said. “We’re neither stuffy nor are we like a warehouse sale. We go out of our way to make sure bidders feel safe and comfortable while participating in our auctions. In addition, we showcase consignors’ items in a well-lit auction arena and display larger furniture items in pleasing vignettes.”

A professional auctioneer, Hoyer hold several prestigious certifications, including CAI – Certified Auctioneer Institute; GPPA – Graduate Personal Property Appraiser; CES – Certified Estate Specialist and PRI – Professional Ringmen’s Institute. In addition, EJ’s Auction & Consignment is a long-standing member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA).

EJ’s weekly estate auctions take place every Saturday at the Glendale auction house starting at 10 a.m. (doors open at 9 a.m.). Patrons visiting EJ’s can also preview items from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and bid online.

On Friday, August 24, EJ’s will conduct a firearms and military collection auction. The live and online auction will start at 6 p.m. Beginning in September, EJ’s will conduct a firearms auction on the third Friday evening of every month, also starting at 6 p.m.

Individuals and families who need help downsizing or selling household contents can schedule a free appointment with a consignment specialist at any time. In addition, EJ’s conducts free appraisal fairs every other month, with the next appraisal fair scheduled for Friday, September 21.
